over the past few weeks i had reminded the story of this man, solomon. as many as people would remember about this man, he is the wisest man ever lived on earth according to the Word of God and also the riches and prosperity he shared is beyond numbered.
solomon, above all else he ask God wisdom to govern His people. in response to that, God was pleased and glad for what solomon ask. and at the end, God not only granted his request and also bless him with what he did not ask for- riches, honor and long life. 1 king 3:5-15
we all know God is a God that loves to bless us. in fact this is one of his nature- He gives his Only son, Jesus. but what i discover in this passage is...God can be glad or disappointed in things that u ask from him.
for example u ask for a b'day present from uR parent, at first u were just asking a new mobile phone but u have no idea that ur parent are actually prepared to buy u a brand new car. or uR parent ask what u wanna have for dinner not knowing that they are already prepared to bring u to dine in TGIF but u told them wanna go eat mamak food.
do u get da pic?y settle for second best while u can have the pleasure to enjoy the best God has install for u?
imagine that if solomon was only ask for riches or long life when God appear to him, what would possibly happened?
haha seriously i don't know too. but 1 thing i knw is that he would probably failed to realize his full potential.
mark this word, when u ask God for the right thing, the bible said He's not only granted uR original request but bless u with some other things that u did not ask.
i pray and i pray that i wouldn't limit God and my potential by the prayers that i pray. riches and long life is what to God? to me solomon has make a good deal, he ask for wisdom and God gives him riches and long life as a free gift. so friend, be WISE in what u ask...
